Writing for the webYou can get free publicity for your business in our eNewsletter if you contribute a suitable, well-written article. If you would like to contribute, read through the following points before writing your article:

  1. Hot tips articles are not intended to be adverts for your business, or press releases. They should be strictly editorial. You do however get a paragraph at the end to talk about your business.

  2. Keep articles to between 350 and 550 words. Be concise – long-winded paragraphs do not work in web content.

  3. Aim to write the article in the format of '5/10 top tips on XXX' as they seem to work the best with readers and it breaks the text up into easy-to-digest steps. Always include a short introduction.

  4. We would not feature articles about products that conflict with our own product offering. Click here to view our current products. If in doubt, email production@fpb.org to find out if we will feature your article.

  5. The content must have broad appeal. In other words, it must be of use to the majority of smaller businesses, not just specific sectors.

  6. We reserve the right to edit your article. This usually means that we will correct any typographical or grammatical errors. If we make any changes that could change the meaning of your article, we would, of course, consult you first.
  1. The paragraph at the end, entitled About the author, should be no longer than 50 words. This paragraph should say what your business does and should include contact details such as a web address, email address and phone number.
